Our Story
Above The Cloudz Records started with a folding table, a few milk crates, and an obsession with music. Sixteen years later, we're still here — independently owned, community-driven, and more in love with records than ever.
How It Started
Built From a Love of Music
TJ grew up in a house where the record player never stopped spinning. His parents had everything — Marvin Gaye, Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis, Public Enemy. By the time he was a teenager, he was haunting thrift stores and estate sales, hunting for records nobody else wanted.
In 2008, he set up a folding table at the weekend flea market with two milk crates of records. By noon, everything was sold. He came back the next weekend with four crates. Then eight. Then a van.
Three years later, Above The Cloudz Records opened its doors — a real store, with real shelves, and a mission to be the kind of place TJ always wished existed: welcoming, knowledgeable, and stocked with every genre under the sun.
